An
Introduction to Survival After Death
Survival after death
Survival after death is often
viewed as reincarnation or the belief that the soul of the
deceased returns to the material world and is reborn into a new
body. Many people throughout the world have stated cases in
which they grew up with memories of past lives. These memories
allow them to trace their roots from their previous lives and
even be reunited with people that they knew in past lives.
There are references to reincarnation found in virtually every
religion. In Hinduism, it is believed that souls advance to
other bodies immediately after death.
The religion of Christianity
holds to the belief that survival after death is an experience
for the soul as well, but in a much different light. This
religion believes that once the body has perished or died, the
soul is taken up to Heaven, provided the appropriate
preparations have been made. In order to reach Heaven, one must
accept Jesus Christ as savior and vow to live a good life. In
the event that death comes before this preparation is made then
the soul is taken to Hell or Purgatory to be punished for
eternity.
The Christian belief of life
after death states that Heaven is a place where souls will live
on forever, having no pain either physical or emotional. There
are also those who believe that survival after death is
possible without actually leaving earth or being reborn into a
new body. There are many people in the world who believe in
ghosts. These ghosts are said to protect homes or other humans
as well as many other instances. While believing in ghosts is
not technically an organized religion, there are many who
believe that ghosts do exist in many areas. Some believe that
ghosts only exist to finish up business that they died before
completing. For instance, many stories of lost loves fashion a
lover being heard crying at specific times in the night. Once
the lovers are reunited, the ghosts are free to rest in peace
and to pursue their Heavenly reward.
Other stories tell of ghosts
who could not rest until their murderers were found and tried.
Again, once this unfinished business is completed, these ghosts
are said to have gone on to Heaven.
There are those who believe that ghosts, once they become
spirits, are here for eternity. They do not leave earth, but
are set here simply because they have nowhere else to go. Those
who do not believe in God and Heaven often believe that when
bodies die their spirits will forever walk the earth, able to
be seen and heard by many.
There are many religions in
the world and each teaches of the results of death with regards
to the mind, spirit or soul. While many believe that once we
pass on we will come back very soon in a new body ready to
begin a new life, others believe that once we die we will be
gone forever, only to be reunited with our loved ones when they
also pass on. The subject of life after death has been debated
for centuries. Believing in life after death gives many people
comfort when their loved ones die, while others are simply
expecting their existence to end completely. The beliefs are
many, and it is hard to determine which ones are right and
which are wrong. The only true way to know is to wait until the
experience is at hand.
